Places are never only places. Sometimes they become mirrors, invitations, or a way back home.

Azita MofidianA little about me
My name is Azita Mofidian, though family and friends call me Azi. I was born and raised near the beautiful Caspian Sea in northern Iran and left my birthplace as a teenager — perhaps the beginning of a lifelong relationship with movement, change, and the search for belonging.
I am an engineer by education and an artist at heart. I graduated from UC Berkeley’s School of EECS and also studied graphic design, spending much of my professional life in the fast-moving world of technology. But creativity has always been where I feel most myself — through writing, painting, photography, and simply observing the world around me.
Travel has always been part of who I am. I have explored more than 40 countries and lived in France, Denmark, Turkey, the UK, and the United States. Over time, travel has become less about collecting destinations and more about experiencing life from different perspectives. I love the freedom of arriving somewhere unfamiliar, slowing down, meeting people I might otherwise never know, and discovering how differently — and yet how similarly — we all live.
I write about those experiences and the reflections they leave behind: travel, motherhood, change, relationships, home, identity, starting over, and the small moments that often teach us the most.
This website is my little home for those stories, along with the art, photographs, and creative projects that accompany them. I don't have a final destination in mind. I'm learning to be comfortable with that.
I’m glad our paths crossed here.
Love and light,
~Azi
